Lab-Dentist Interaction

Lab to Dentist Communication

Communication between dentist and dental lab is crucial to the final outcome of dental restoration. It’s not enough to be a great technician. A technician must also possess great communication skills and tools.

When we talk about great communicators, some of the famous names come to mind. Winston Churchill, Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan are considered to be some of the great people in history with exceptional gift of communicating their message.

Winston knew how to make an impression on a large audience, even in times of great turmoil. Abe was known for saying the things we were all thinking. Reagan proved that keeping it simple in public speaking is the way to get your audience on board.

All those skills are important when dental lab is trying to communicate with a dentist. “Making an Impression” by giving a suggestion to a dentist which will provide an ultimate result for a patient. “Saying things which we are thinking” and being honest up-front with a dentist when requested restoration won’t work for a given case. Most of the time “keeping it simple” is the best way to go when trying to find answers for a complicated case.

However, very often communicating verbally with your dentist is not enough. Fortunately in this day and age we have many tools and choices to enhance our communication skills. Emails, video and photo images are some of those tools employed at Impressive Dental Studio to enhance our communication with our clients.
